Thank you to Sidiq Prihatno for redesigning every reminder in this release.
What's New
A new look for every reminder. Reminders, the adhan and the iqamah countdown now come out of the notch: black at the top, flowing into the colour of the prayer's sky, with a soft light along the edge. The full-screen countdown has the same look, as a glowing circle in the middle of the screen.
The prayer's name comes first. When a countdown starts, it shows "Time for Asr" for a moment before the numbers. At iqamah it says "Time to pray", then counts up how long it has been.
Close after iqamah. Choose how many minutes after iqamah the countdown closes itself, in Settings › Iqamah.
Count down to the adhan (optional). Turn it on in Settings › Reminders to count down to each adhan, for the prayers you choose.
Glass buttons in full screen. They stay hidden until you point at the countdown, so your screen stays clear.
Dim the screen your way. Drag the thin arc along the bottom of the notch countdown to set how dark the screen gets; it still reaches full darkness at iqamah.
Prayer times in the notch can show a countdown, as in the menu bar.
Settings reorganised: General, Location, Prayer Times, Reminders, Iqamah, Screen, Lock Mac, Menu Bar & Notch and About. On screens without a notch, choose a floating pill or an island attached to the top.
Bug Fixes
Walasr opens at login again. Only the copy in Applications registers itself as a login item.
A minimized countdown no longer stays minimized for the next prayer after your Mac was locked.
The schedule panel closes when you open Settings or another Walasr window.
Snooze never runs past iqamah. It hides the countdown for 5 minutes, or comes back for the last 10 seconds before iqamah if that's sooner, and no longer moves iqamah later. In the last minute only "I've prayed" remains.
The adhan isn't announced twice with the full-screen countdown.
Prayer times in the notch no longer block clicks on what's around them.
Friday labels read correctly for the Jumu'ah reminder.
The iqamah countdown is back beside the prayer name. In v0.2.0 the window buttons pushed the countdown onto its own row; now the number sits on the same line as "Asr · Iqamah in" again.
Smaller, tidier window buttons. Dim/blur off, minimize and close are small buttons in the card's top-right corner that never move the layout. The same goes for the adhan, reminder and Friday notch, and for the full-screen countdown.
Full-screen countdown buttons no longer look greyed out while you're working in another app.
Lock your Mac at iqamah (optional). Turn it on in Settings › Iqamah to lock your Mac at iqamah or a few minutes after, per prayer. A 10-second warning appears on every screen first, with Cancel (or Esc) if you need a moment. It never locks while you're sharing or presenting your screen, after you skip or close the countdown, or when you wake your Mac after iqamah has passed.
Close the adhan and reminder notch with the new × button.
Change the menu bar display from the right-click menu. Pick a format under "Menu Bar Display" without opening Settings.
Cleaner notch controls. Minimize and close sit in the top-right corner, apart from Snooze and I've prayed.
Bug Fixes
The "10 minutes left" reminder no longer shows twice.
The notch sits on the camera notch even when your MacBook isn't the main display.
Friday's countdown now says "Jumu'ah adhan in" instead of counting down to iqamah.
The lock warning always appears for a full 10 seconds before your Mac locks. If the warning can't be shown, Walasr skips the lock.
Works across all your displays. The full-screen countdown now appears on every screen, with its buttons on the screen your pointer is on. Reminders and the notch countdown also show a small pill on external displays. Prefer one screen? Choose "Main screen only" in Settings › Iqamah.
Close or shrink the notch countdown. The × button hides it for that prayer (darkening and blur too, while the menu bar keeps counting). The minimize button shrinks it to a small icon and timer; click it to open it again.
Set each prayer's iqamah gap during setup, so the countdown matches your nearest masjid from the start.
Blur is now off by default (darkening stays on). Turn it on anytime in Settings › Iqamah.
Bug Fixes
The screen never freezes anymore. In the last 2 minutes before iqamah the countdown used to block clicks and keyboard; now your work stays usable the whole time and only the countdown's own buttons take clicks.
Switching the countdown style back to Notch works during a countdown. It used to stay full screen until the next prayer.
The 15-second preview switches to full screen at the right moment for your "minutes before iqamah" setting, instead of always after 6 seconds.
Choose when the iqamah countdown appears. Start it right at the adhan (as before) or only a few minutes before iqamah, e.g. 5 minutes before when your mosque waits 15.
Switch to full screen near iqamah. The countdown can start quietly in the notch and move to full screen a few minutes before iqamah.
Live iqamah countdown in the menu bar, to the second, matching the one on screen.
"Now" status after the adhan. The menu bar and schedule panel show the current prayer and time to iqamah instead of jumping straight to the next prayer.
New app icon.
Simpler countdown styles: Notch or Full screen. If you used Window, Walasr switches you to Full screen.
Bug Fixes
Countdown digits roll again instead of just swapping each second.
Darkening and blur are smooth instead of stepping once a second.
The adhan notch and the iqamah countdown no longer overlap. The countdown waits until the adhan moment is done.
Much lower CPU use with the panel or countdown open. The night-sky panel went from about 4% to near zero.
Official prayer times in your menu bar. Kemenag RI for Indonesia (per regency/city), JAKIM for Malaysia, MUIS for Singapore, and astronomical calculation everywhere else. Times are downloaded once a month and keep working offline.
Iqamah countdown after every adhan. Show it in the notch, full screen or a window, and set how many minutes each prayer's iqamah gap is.
The screen slowly darkens and blurs until iqamah, so you stop working in time to pray. Turn either off in Settings, or for a single prayer minimize the countdown to the notch or switch off dim & blur.
Snooze, skip, Friday and pause. Snooze once for 5 minutes, skip when you've prayed, get a Jumu'ah reminder before Dhuhr on Fridays, and pause reminders for a few days when you need to.
Notch view on MacBooks. See the next prayer and its countdown beside the notch, alongside or instead of the menu bar.
A schedule panel that follows the sky, with a sun arc across the day, the Hijri date and the next prayer time front and center.
Reminders before each prayer and a soft chime when the time comes, plus a short ayah about prayer during the countdown.
12- or 24-hour time, per-prayer minute corrections, Indonesian and English.
